Dr. Sammons has been a practicing orthopaedic surgeon since 1983. He holds a B.S. in Psychology and Biology from Vanderbilt University and received an M.D. from University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center and continued his specialized training in Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Scottish Rite Hospital and the Shepherd Spinal Center, both in Atlanta, Georgia. He is fellowship trained in Spinal Surgery from the University of Toronto. As a Board Certified surgeon, Dr. Sammons serves as team physician for Huntsville High School, and is a member of the UAH volunteer faculty. He is a member of numerous medical and orthopaedic professional associations. |
