| Biography: |
Dr. Burnside came to Huntsville after completing his 2 year military commitment practicing general orthopedics and serving as chief of service. Prior to that, he had trained in pediatric and adult orthopedic surgery concentrating around reconstructive surgery. His interest in reconstructive surgery continued after entering private practice. As new procedures and techniques were developed in joint replacement surgery he kept abreast of new developments by attending post graduate and training programs on a regular basis. It also motivated him to be a key figure in introducing the joint camp concept to the North Alabama area. As a senior member of the TOC joint replacement team, Dr. Burnside is trained and practices minimally invasive joint replacements with state of the art techniques and materials. His other interests center around arthroscopic surgery and knee and shoulder surgery.
