KRISTYN WILSON

Randolph High School - Athlete of the Week - January 2012

Kristyn Wilson - AOW - January 2012

Week 2

Kristyn Wilson – Randolph School
4.16 GPA
Sports: Swimming / Cross-Country / Track

Whether if by land or if by sea (in this case a swimming pool), our second Athlete of the Week for 2012 is sure to have a clear path of success ahead of her.  That might sound a little confusing, but when you start reading Kristyn Wilson’s resume’ of accomplishments, you begin to understand why this Randolph High School senior is garnering so much attention in AND out of the water.  From the beginning of her high school career, Kristyn has been the “Big Fish” in her pond: referring to her many years of service as Randolph swim Team Captain, her numerous MVP awards and honors, and her run as a state finalist the past four swim-seasons.  Out of the water, she’s a trailblazer on the ground.  Kristyn takes her love of racing to the track and the cross-country course.  She’s lettered in both sports for the past five years.  She’s received All-Metro and All-State recognition for her cross-country accomplishments, along with the respect of her teammates, being named Team Captain.  Likely her greatest athletic accomplishment came when she was part of the 2009 3A State Championship 4x800M relay team.  Her 4.16 GPA might argue that last point.  Kristyn blazes in the classroom, too.  She’s been a 4-time Randolph Scholar-Athlete, a member of the National Honors Society, the National Spanish Honors Society, Math Honors Society and has made the Dean’s List each and every semester.  Kristyn was also named as a National Merit Semi-Finalist.  As accolades and awards may fall her way, Kristyn stays level-headed, particularly when it comes to giving back.  She focuses much of her time being a camp volunteer for mentally and physically disabled children, but also gives back in the water when she volunteers to give swimming lessons.  Kristyn was also given 2011 Presidential Community Serivice Award for her community services.  Congratulations, Kristyn!
