Posted on: 11/24/2009
Week 1

Chelsi Bryant
Hazel Green High School
3.8 GPA
Sports: Volleyball & Basketball
Chelsi is an active senior at Hazel Green High School with a very demanding work schedule. She made the varsity basketball team as a freshman and made captain her junior year. On the volleyball court, she was awarded the “Most Blocks” award, while leading her team to a county tournament championship. In the classroom, Chelsi’s name is a familiar one on her school’s honor roll list. She’s also been named to the Who’s Who among American teens. Chelsi’s love of learning and sport allow her to pass on her knowledge by teaching underprivileged kids volleyball and basketball.
Week 2

McKinley Hendrix
Hartselle High School
4.04 GPA
Sports: Football, Baseball
McKinley has had sports running through his veins since he was young. But he’s always had his priorities in order in the classroom. As a three year starter on the baseball team, he’s helped lead that team to the playoffs each year and a state championship in 2009. He’s also had a starting job as wide-receiver for Hartselle football for the past four years. He’s as smart as he is talented. McKinley carries a very impressive 4.04 GPA and has scored an amazing 33 on the ACT. When McKinley gets a break he likes to spend it volunteering, whether as a little league coach, or a math tutor or a big brother to an underprivileged child.
