Week 4

Rachel Fox – Whitesburg Christian Academy
4.0 GPA
Sports: Volleyball

Leadership has been described as the process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task.  A common task for Rachel Fox is winning a volleyball match, seeing her name on the A-Honor Roll and volunteering in her community and abroad.  Yes, this Whitesburg Christian Academy senior has grown to be an example for many.  For example, her performance on the volleyball court has been described as the reason why this new school program has flourished.  Rachel has been a varsity starter since 8th grade and is currently Team Captain.  She, alone, was named to the All-Area Tournament AND All-Regional Teams, but her most distinguished honor has to be when she received the Association of Christian Schools International Distinguished Christian High School Student Award in Athletics for most outstanding student-athlete.  She’s already leading a charge to the next level of her education.  Rachel has a solid 4.0 GPA and is prepping for college with honors classes and dual-enrolment college courses.  She’s an officer in the National Honors Society and is a member of the Student Leadership Institute where she’s received instruction and training in leadership theory and specific leadership skills.  Despite a rather hectic schedule, Rachel doesn’t lose sight of what is important; her community.  She has applied those leadership skills to serve her church, family, community and school.  She’s taken mission trips to help clean in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.  This globetrotter has even taken a three week mission trip to Africa.  When she’s home, it’s business as usual at her local church.  Congratulations, Rachel!
