WHNT Opioid Awareness Campaign

TOC recognizes that the present opioid epidemic is one of the most devastating public health threats to our society. It is our mission to improve patient quality of life by developing a treatment plan that minimizes pain and maximizes daily functioning through multi-modal treatments and, when prescribing opioids, a strong commitment to patient safety and education.

To voice our stance, we have partnered with WHNT, the CBS affiliate, as a sponsor of their Opioid Awareness Campaign. On September 26th from 4-7 pm, WHNT will host a panel of experts from a local nonprofit, Not One More, to provide one on one help for those suffering with addiction in their lives. There will also be a news series where they explore the gaps, obstacles, and possible solutions and will air in the days leading up to the Action line. At the end of the live Action line, at 6:30 pm, WHNT will air a 30-minute show delivering personal stories that put faces to the crisis.

Our very own Dr. Cosgrove sat down with WHNT and discussed the opioid epidemic and how we try and focus most of our treatment without the use of opioids. This interview will air days leading up to the live panel.

In the days leading up to the live call-in panel, we will be sharing content from WHNT through our Facebook channel.  We want to encourage our patients to show your support of ending this horrible epidemic by watching the live panel and also to join in the conversation on TOC’s Facebook page and share the posts with your friends.
