TOC Therapy Center

Position: Centralized Scheduler/Insurance Verification

Full-time – Huntsville Therapy Dept

Hours: 8-5, Monday-Friday with an hour lunch break

Position Purpose: To maintain a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere while accommodating patients’ needs via telephone.

Position Requirements:

  • Required Education: High School diploma
  • Required License/Certification: N/A
  • Experience: 1-2 years medical office experience preferred

Job responsibilities:

  • Answer all incoming phone calls to the call center
  • Direct calls appropriately
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written for clear, legible messages
  • Pleasant, friendly demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and all incoming callers
  • Schedule appointments
  • Be highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure
  • Have a positive, teamwork attitude
  • Assist with any other tasks assigned
  • This position will require you to spend extensive amounts of time on the phone with insurance companies
  • Work directly with insurance companies
  • Verify patient’s insurance coverage
  • Update patient’s insurance coverage
  • Call patients to reschedule appointments if needed

The Orthopaedic Center (TOC) is seeking full-time Physical Therapists to join our practice.  We are expanding in the Athens, AL area and have openings for PTs.

The Orthopaedic Center (TOC) is seeking part-time Physical Therapy Aides at its Huntsville office.  If you are interested in applying, please send your resume to hr@visittoc.com.

POSITION PURPOSE: To prepare patients for rehab treatments, to assist therapist during administration of treatments and to provide maintenance type care to patients.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Required Education: High School diploma

Required License/Certification: CPR certification

Experience: No experience required. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Those obtained through on the job training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers skillfully
  • Frequent use of forceful exertion during treatment
  • Frequent moving, pushing, pulling of heavy patients and/or equipment
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Must be agile and able to work efficiently in space limited areas
  • Consistently work at a productive pace
  • Must readily adapt to frequent treatment schedule changes

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Inside, protected from weather conditions, occasional exposure to harsh weather, when assisting a patient in and out of clinic.  Exposure to toxic disinfectants and body secretions.

Position:  RN (F/T)
Job Duties:

  • Perform general nursing duties
  • Perform suture/staple removal
  • Perform wound care/dressing changes
  • Drawing up meds; calling in medications
  • Applying and removing casts and splints and some fitting of orthotics
  • Locate any necessary films, test results, and/or reports for upcoming appointments
  • Schedule tests and procedures
  • Schedule physician referrals and interoffice referrals
  • Precert imaging and tests
  • Precert/verify benefits for surgery
  • Schedule surgeries
  • Prepare surgical paperwork and packets
  • Friendly and Professional patient communication
    • Answering and returning patient phone calls
    • Procedure education
    • Escorting patients to and from exam rooms
    • Appointment reminder calls
    • Respond to and chart patient messages
    • Communicate test results to patients
  • Prepare exam rooms, restock supplies for clinic, power up computers, etc.
  • Fill out disability, return-to-work and insurance forms
  • Obtain physician signature on miscellaneous forms
  • Prepare charts for clinic and print out patient information as requested by physician
  • Assist other physician team members as needed

Must also:

  • possess ability to communicate effectively with patients, TOC physicians and staff
  • possess ability to work under pressure and deadlines
  • have outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills
  • be independent, highly motivated
  • exhibit initiative and self-discipline
