TOC Joins Huntsville Hospital Family

Huntsville Hospital Health System and The Orthopaedic Center (TOC) have joined forces.

HH-TOC CampusFounded in 1999, TOC specializes in joint replacement, sports medicine, adult and pediatric orthopedic conditions, and spine care. With 37 physicians and 13 locations to serve patients across North Alabama and southern Tennessee, it is the state’s largest orthopedic practice – and one of the most trusted.

“The Orthopaedic Center is extremely pleased to be joining Huntsville Hospital Health System,” said Mark Didier, TOC’s Chief Executive Officer. “While we have had a great working relationship over the years, we believe this merger will bring a bright new future to the delivery of musculoskeletal care for North Alabama and the Region. “

Jeff Samz, Chief Executive Officer of Huntsville Hospital Health System, said: “We are thrilled to welcome TOC to the HH Health family. As we align more closely, patients will benefit by having two of Alabama’s leading health care providers working in tandem to provide them with the very best in orthopedic care.”

Huntsville Hospital and TOC have a long shared history going back almost a quarter of a century.

Because every TOC physician is already a member of the Health System’s medical staff, most TOC patients who need surgery already have their procedure performed at a Health System facility such as Huntsville Hospital’s Orthopedic & Spine Tower, Athens-Limestone Hospital or Marshall Medical.

Also, Huntsville Hospital athletic trainers, under the direction of TOC Huntsville sports medicine physicians, provide free athletic training services for area high schools, Alabama A&M University and professional sports teams including the Huntsville Havoc. In their latest partnership, TOC and Huntsville Hospital serve as the official medical providers for the Rocket City’s new professional soccer team, Huntsville City Football Club.

With an expanding network of services, TOC is committed to meeting the demands of patients. Whether it’s a twisted ankle from a weekend basketball game in Athens or a physical therapy appointment in Albertville, TOC has the resources to help and will only improve that care partnered with Huntsville Hospital Health System.

“The combined strengths of the Health System and TOC make us a destination of care,” said Didier. “TOC is proud to join the Health System and excited to grow into the future together.”
